What is Student Ministry?

Student Ministry

Our Student Ministry is for kids in grades 6-12. At One Life, it is our priority to grow and nurture an authentic faith in the next generation.

Studies show two key principals that separate students who have left the church upon entering college versus those who have owned their faith and stayed connected:

1. Meaningful relationships with the adult community in the church
2. Reverse mentoring opportunities

Available Positions:

All volunteers in our Next Gen ministries must pass a background check.

Bible Teachers:
The curriculum and a guide for teachers is provided. We have openings for teachers on Wednesday Night Students and on Sunday mornings.

Small Group Leaders:
We provide a midweek experience for Students called Wednesday Night Students(WNS). During WNS, we have a small group time where we divide our student ministry into middle school and high school, and by gender. We need leaders willing to lead a small group of middle school boys, middle school girls, high school boys, and high school girls.

Game Masters: This person plans a game every week for the students (about 15-20 minutes) and runs it. Games can be active, silly, sit down, etc., with the goal of facilitating connectivity.

WNS Hospitality Team:  serves Wednesday evenings  and helps with setting up, serving snacks/meals, cleaning up, and running check in for the students and leaders.

Student Breakfast Coordinator: This is a monthly commitment on Sunday mornings. This person would be responsible to find families to sponsor the students breakfast on the 1st Sunday of the month: set up, tear down, and communicate needs with the Next Gen Director.
